I realize it is January and I’m harkening back to November with this blog post, but it was such a fabulous trip that I needed to share. As a sort of family experiment, we thought we’d try spending Thanksgiving in sunny Kona and see if we felt just as thankful as we do at home. Turns out we absolutely do, maybe even a little tiny bit more. I’m just sayin, 85 degrees, geckos, turtles, and frolicking beach fun is a nice way to spend a holiday. However, seven hours with Addison on my lap, about 2 square feet of rented airline space, a restless four year old beside me and this is nothing to mention airport security drama, I’m pretty thankful to be home as well.

Building sandcastles is serious business.

I love turtles. Curious, slow, and simply marvelous.

This is a boy and girl gecko. You’ll just have to trust me, but I definitely know.

Yep, Addison is eating sand, and not for the first time. Texture alone makes me gag.
