Inspiration comes in all sorts of packages. It has no prejudice, boundaries and usually surfaces in unlikely places. Today I wanted to share two people who have inspired me. One very recently and one for as long as I can remember. When we see strengths in others we can choose to embrace them and challenge ourselves to move one step closer to the best version of ourselves, or we can make excuses, himming and hawing 101 reasons why not. I’m choosing to make a move. My 3 miles pales in comparison’s to Jessica’s half marathon (Rock and Roll Marathon), but that’s not what it’s really about. The real inspiration is setting a goal and finishing to completion no matter the hurdle. So three is on the road to 4, which will be 5 and by September a 10k. Like I said, a better version of myself.

So proud of you and seriously, could you look a little less thrilled at mile 11?

As with most things in life, a half marathon is more fun with a friend. These two trained and conquered. You both deserve a giant, warm chocolate chip cookie.
My Gram turned 91 today and we celebrated over lunch. I love spending time with my family, and I’m pretty sure I could find a reason to celebrate Gram every day. The inspiration list here would be long and very, very gushy. So I’ll settle for two. My Gram is unselfish to the core and she loves her family with a strength & loyalty unmatched. Gram, on your birthday I harken back to one of the many love notes I would leave on your pillow at night ‘ I love you more than a thousand wildflowers growing on a sprawling green hill.’ To which you would so aptly respond with a smile and shake of your head (because you secretly loving the absurdity of it all) while murmuring almost by habit “You silly child.” Just know, Gram, that all the inspiring you’ve done is going to have me working til Jesus comes.
