There are a few things to know about a photobooth.

1. Inhibitions run for the door when a box of props appear. Contrary to what some think, we can still recognize you with a fake mustache or boa.

2. It is all ages appropriate (as demonstrated clearly below)

3. We are not held responsible for crazy, out of character merriment that will most likely surprise even yourself, especially if it is evenings end and the bar has been generous.

This could be my favorite of all time.

Tiffany & Pat: Chelan Wedding Part 1

Back in July I got to second shoot with my great friend, Brooke (By Brooke Photography) over in Chelan. It was about a million degrees outside, but we still had a great time. I love it when couples find ways to make their wedding day reflect who they are every day. Pat wore his dress uniform for the Chelan fire department instead of a suit or tux – it was perfect!

Last weekend we had a blast shooting Karen & Jake’s wedding at the Woodland Park Zoo. It was fun to shoot at such a unique venue. We hope you two are having a blast in South Africa!

Here’s the rest of Amy and Dean’s classic wedding. I love all the white decor and florals with the pops of orange. Decor by Aria Style.

When Amy told us that she picked Aria because they were the only floral design studio that rented white leather chaise lounges, I knew we were in for a treat!

This beautiful lady took her husband’s rather revealing speech with great poise. Don’t worry, we’ll never tell!

More fun from Rachel & John. It was nostalgic to walk the campus of Western Washington Univerisity with Jenn. Instead of heading to class we appreciate texture and light for photos. Instead of a backpack of books we carry cameras and gear. Although we walk the same paths, we are most definitely far from where we started. I’m not sure if it made me feel old or just all grown up.

I had the privilege the last two weekends to second shoot for one of my favorite people in the whole wide world (Jennifer Apps Photography.) Although we only lived together for one year in college, the dream is that we will one day be neighbors and share sugar through our kitchen windows. That close. Until then, I’ll just revel in the opportunity to shoot beside her and enjoy the company.

Colby & Kristi : Preparation

One of my favorite salons for wedding day preparation is Robert Leonard Salon & Spa in Seattle. They have pampering down to an art and you are guaranteed to walk out their front doors feeling your most glamourous. When Kristi told us she and her wedding party would begin their day getting getting ready at the salon, we knew nothing but fabulous could follow.

Kristi’s earrings were absolutely beautiful! I love how they sparkled and danced when she moved.

Stunning. Simply stunning.

I couldn’t completely neglect our handsome groom. Cool and collected with the most welcoming, charming grin. The perfect dashing compliment to his ravishing bride.

Sometimes opportunities arise and you move forward not even realizing the full scope. If just feels right. Back in May we received a call from an organization called Wish Upon a Wedding. They are the first non-profit wish granting organization providing weddings for couples facing terminal illness. It was Wednesday and they working feverishly to create the first event for the Seattle chapter the following Sunday. We agreed, only understanding where we were to be and that we would be volunteering to photograph a wedding. What an incredible blessing it turned out to be. Shelly & Jay have a remarkable story, and thanks to the tireless efforts of Wish Upon a Wedding, the final chapter was a grand celebration for their wedding. Their wedding was a stark reminder of why we marry. To be joined to the one we love, for better or worse in sickness and health. Never before have those words held such meaning for me. Rylee & I were honored and so grateful to have been a part of Jay & Shelly’s day. We’ll post additional pictures next week now that we have the green light, but for now you can read about their story on today’s MSN.com page. Colby & Kristi:Texas Heart, Seattle Style

I absolutely do not profess to being an all out expert, but after shooting 3 Texas weddings (two hear in Seattle and one in Texas) I feel confidant in saying that Texans are the friendliest, warmest and best mannered people in the US. And man, do they know how to have a good time! It might be the slow southern drawl and the great big smiles, but something about them makes you feel comfortable like family. Yesterday’s wedding was incredible and there will be plenty more to share, but for today here is one image of the newly married Mr. & Mrs. Colby Street! Ya’ll come back for some more real soon. (I had to try.)
