Going Boingo at Norfolk

A few things:

1.  I hate paying for wireless.  $7 for a connection.  I could buy two Soy London Fog Tea Latte’s at Starbucks, another trashy paperback or a half a sandwich at the airport for $7, but instead, I paid for a connection with Boingo, the hotspot at the Norfolk airport.

2.  I hate paying to check 1 bag.  For Pete’s sake!  You have to pay to check your first bag now!  I can’t believe it.  $15 – I guess it’s better than 50 :) .

3.  I just bought a bag of m&m’s for $2.50.  I know.  Ridiculous, but I just had to have them in order to recover from the previous two purchases.  Now I sit here, happily connected to the world again.  From the ticket counter to my seat, I dropped $24.50.

4.  I love the Norfolk Airport – really small, no lines, really nice people – perfect. Now that I’ve spent time in DC and Virginia, and hung out with someone from North Carolina, I’m going to be all nice and talkative when I get home, just to be shut down by the not-so-talkative people walking the streets of Seattle.  I’ll leave a picture at the end of this so that if you see me in the street you can say “hi” and help me practice my new manners, and you know not to crush my dreams by ignoring my waves and hellos.

5.  I love the internet.  My cell hasn’t had service in my hotel room, and I haven’t had internet access (other than my magic iphone) for days.  Now I can catch up on all my favorite blogs, watch the last episode of Lost (I hear we get to see some more bare-chested manly men tromping through the jungle….), and most importantly – get some work done!  (This is for you, Valerie – your book order is happening as we speak!)

Now I’m off to my m&m’s and Lost.  HELLO INTERNET WORLD!

Oh, yeah, here’s the picture.  It’s not real great, but I thought the people sitting around me might start to wonder about my mental health if I continued making faces at my computer.
