Murky skies, dark water, sailboats stark against the gray sky. ”One more!” Kelly cried at Mandy and Nate as we moved down the beach. They cuddle closer, trying to stay warm as the temperature plummets and the sharp winds start to bite at our fingers. It gets colder. and colder. and colder. ”Ok, we’re done! I can’t feel my hands!” We practically run back to the stairs to cross over the railroad tracks and get into a warm car. Burning, prickling fingers and ears were calmed inside Mandy & Nate’s local bar, where we finished a few photos and sipped beer and chatted about the wedding. I was almost thankful for the freezing winds that cut off the beach session, because sitting around an old wood table, really connecting with our clients (I’d rather call them friends) is my favorite part of my job. We got to hear about how he keeps her grounded when she freaks out about things, and she keeps him smiling and laughing by bringing up not-so-dirty jokes. Mandy & Nate, thank you so much for such a wonderful afternoon! We can’t wait for the wedding!

I had to use photoshop to feign warm summer sun in at least one photo…

And my favorite of the day…
