One of the best parts of summer is sunshine. One of the best parts of sunshine is quenching your thirst with sangria! Here is my recipe for one of the best summertime drinks. I think it’s neck and neck with Mike’s mojito – maybe Kelly will get his recipe and post it for you.
First you need to gather your ingredients and slice up your fruit.
Add the sugar and triple sec. If you’re looking for a party then you can toss in some vodka, rum, gin or even tequila. Way back when we went to a sangria party and tried it about 20 ways including all kinds of different alcohols and they were all good. Use a wooden spoon to muddle the fruit, sugar and alcohol, add the juice, wine and soda.
Serve it up with ice and enjoy!
Red Sangria:
A bottle of red wine – I usually use Syrah
One orange
One lemon
1/4 cup to 1/2 cup of sugar depending on how sweet you want it
1/4 cup Triple Sec
1 cup of orange juice
Small bottle of sprite
White Sangria:
Bottle of white wine – I use Pino Grigio or Prosecco. I think Prosecco is the best because it sparkles!
One orange
One lemon
1/4-1/2 cup of sugar
1/4 cup of triple sec
1 cup of grapefruit juice
small bottle of ginger ale
