It is definitely a pleasure to travel with a couple from the beginning and watch as they become a family. You can see their engagement session here. I’ll actually be posting their incredible wedding from two years ago later this week since it somehow never made the blog and must be shared. Kelsi & Jesse’s wedding was amazing! Now, to see them settled into life and ready to add the newest member to their family is truly incredible. Kels, you are absolutely gorgeous pregnant and I am so happy to be celebrating this wonderful step with you and Jesse. Hugs.

Introducing: Baby Clara

This is just a brief introduction to my cousin’s sweet new baby. We’ll do a full shoot next week, but she is just too precious not to share. Best part? This first picture was actually taken by Addison. The only way I could convince Addison we weren’t going to touch the brand new 3 day old baby was to give her a camera with an 85mm lens and let her take pictures with mom. I love to see her view of the world. Welcome to the family Baby Clara.

Sundquist Thursday: Seeley’s First Month

So rewind from last week’s photos of Seeley. I did manage to document a few snippets of his first month, but I must beg you to look at these images knowing the following – I was suffering from the bleary-eyed, zombie brained fog that comes with the regimen of no sleep and early nursing. I usually didn’t have an opportunity to photograph Thing 2 until Thing 1 was in bed which equals dark and grainy photos, but let’s call them “photojournalistic” and “emotional” and “inspired by 19th century realist painting” rather than dark and grainy.

Look at that sweet old man face. Simply adorable. When Rylee was visiting the other day we thought it would be a good idea to get a few updated shots of Seeley. He’s suffering from second child syndrome. Meaning, of course, 80% less photo capturing of every moment as the first born. Sad, but true. Take heart my cute little blue-eyed man, you already have more photos of yourself at 4 months than I do of my entire childhood. That has got to count for something.

Ethan & Cynthia + Baby: Sneak peek

Since I know Cynthia is enjoying her baby shower today I thought I would give her a little sneak peek at her maternity shoot yesterday. More to come, but a small sampling is my gift as you celebrate the coming of your sweet baby boy. I had such a wonderfully fun time with the both of you and can hardly wait to meet you little man!

How lucky is this baby? Two parents who are already loving on him like crazy and giving him the gift of music. I could have sat and watched this family moment all day. Absolutely beautiful.

Baby Seeley: 10 days new

There is nothing much more life altering than a new baby in the mix. New baby plus a 19 month old and you’ve got yourself a plate full of fun with a side of happy but exhausted. Rylee, David & Nadia grew their family to four when baby Seeley was born back in September (you can see that arrival here.) Three years isn’t so long that I have forgotten what the first few days, let alone weeks, are like when you are regrouping and adjusting life around your new normal. Rylee is a champ and is pretty much setting the bench for mother’s everywhere. Don’t worry Nadia, I know the wait might feel long, but before you know it your playmate will be up to speed and chasing you around, pulling your hair and tormenting you in proper little brother fashion. Baby Seeley: Ready, set, grow.

I love this one. Nadia has clearly decided the invasion is completely Rylee’s fault.

Harris Family: Baby #2

One of my most favorite things about being a photographer is having the opportunity to travel with a couple from their wedding to the start of their family and beyond. This is baby number two for the Harris family and I have been looking forward to this shoot for awhile. I mean really, I basically was able to spend time with fabulous people, run around chasing an adorable little boy and capture one foxy baby belly (Shauna was ONE week away from her due date in these, can you believe it!?) Throw in a cup of coffee and you’ve got the recipe for a terrific start to my day. Looking forward to meeting your little girl, I imagine only slightly less than you both are.

I just love this one. The colors, the double meaning, the daddy love is coming on strong.

She makes it impossible to not feel good about myself. I’d like to think it’s all me, but really Shauna is absolutely beautiful. It’s all her.

J out pickin the tomatoes from the garden. You would think he’d been given free-reign at the candy store he was so enjoying his juicy, sweet tomatoes off the vine.

Don’t you just want to go take a big bite out of something this delicious?

He was not about to share any of his treasure.

This is the face of ‘no more tomatoes’.

Thought I’d save my favorite for last. Baby Gigi, you’ve go one hot mama.

Bowie Tuesday: Ballet

Addison tried out ballet/tap for four weeks this summer. She loved it the first week. Participated somewhat unwillingly the second week. Cried and asked not to go the third week. Being the quality parent that I am and having taken no photos up to this point I made her go the fourth week just so I could snap a few memory making photos. She’s clearly not miserable once she joins in, but I’m here to tell you, the getting was incredibly rocky. Addison may love dancing with Angelina Bellerina in the living room, but she’s not quite ready to be a ballerina outside the comfort of her home.

If only my own children were this excited to be in front of the camera.

Yep, this is more like it.

Baby Lila Birth Story

Every birth story is so unique and is truly the telling of the ultimate love story. What an incredible honor to witness the intimacy and love in watching a family grow. No words can express how my heart swelled to overflowing to see you hold your baby girl for the first time Jennda. The road of lifelong friendship is strewn with major pivotal moments that remind you how precious the gift of true friends. I’m staking a marker in the road at this one with balloons and fireworks and a huge giant hug.

Rylee & Nadia

This in no way is taking the place of Rylee’s maternity photos (assuming we make the time to make that happen), but it was fun to get a few shots of her, baby belly and Nadia while we were all at the park the other day. I can hardly wait to meet the new addition. Nadia is such a delight that there is only more fun to be had by adding to the numbers. Here’s to you Nadia, and the life altering changes that you have no idea are rapidly coming your way.
