I am really good at starting new things, going strong for about a week and then sort of fizzling out. I also have come to the realization that there are a few (quite a few) areas that could use some improvement. In light of knowing that an aggressive tackle of all that I’d like to accomplish is destined for failure I’ve devised a plan. I made a list of twelve areas that could be better. I realize this is only a start and maybe for the next twelve I’ll consider taking suggestions, but for pride, self preservation and enough self awareness for now I’ve made this starting one myself. Each month will be themed and broken down into smaller objectives. this is starting to sound a bit to crazed and formal, but you get the general idea. Sort of like throwing spaghetti against the cabinet to see what sticks, I realize that not all my good ideas will be lasting, but some are bound to be sticky enough to keep. It is so easy to remain stagnant. To keep at what you know and are comfortable with because it is just that, comfortable. It takes time, energy, planning, and some grit to improve in any area. But seriously, who doesn’t want to be a better version of themselves? I’d really like to be the best version of say Me Ra Koh, Esther, Emma Willard, Heidi Baker or a limitless amount of other extraordinary woman who clearly get more than 24 hours in a day, but as you should always start with what you know, I’ll start with myself.
April is the month of Better Steward. Becoming more aware and an overall better steward of our finances. Not my strong suit, but that is after all what this is all about. Once I have a concrete game plan for the month, I’ll let you know how it looks. So far it’s a theme, a goal and a real desire for success. Not a bad place to start.
** Update: Already signed up for Quicken online where they synced my banking info and help make reminders. We’re on our way!
