Anytime a fellow photographer asks me to take their photos I have two thoughts; I take a moment to be honored and then the pressure is on. I mean, the pressure to do my best is the goal at every shoot, but when it is another photographer that will be critiquing the work, the experience takes on a bit more of a firing squad mentality. The weapons are loaded, the expectations high and often pre-conceived. This is the real demon I fight. Since I know they see the world through a lens as I do, then they may have an idea of the shot they are wanting or even see me taking. Ooooph. Worry for not. It doesn’t help and only distracts from today. (That would be a side note to self.)
Tonhya is a friend from our PUG (Pictage Users Group) here in Seattle and in need of some updated photos. What better opportunity to seize than PartnerCon in New Orleans! We had a great time exploring the city streets early in the morning. I think we even beat the street cleaner. I enjoyed the time getting to know Tonhya even better and the chance to walk away from New Orleans with an acquaintance morphed into friend.
Tell me, can she work it or what? Smokin!!

Here’s a behind the scenes look at our shoot, Andry & Rylee workin the alley. Those dumpsters are omitting quite a stench, in case you’re wondering.
